The term brand positioning is a very abstract and vague concept for some. However, brand positioning is vital to be a sustainable brand.


Brand positioning describes how a brand is different from its competitors and where, or how it sits in the minds of customers. A brand may not appeal to everyone. Therefore, to reach the targeted audience, the positioning strategy of the brand involves creating brand associations in the minds of the customers to make this target audience perceive the brand in a certain way.


Brand positioning is one of the issues that brands should pay attention to in their branding processes. Strategies to be created are directly related to consumer loyalty, consumer-based brand value and willingness to buy the brand by shaping consumer preferences. Effective brand positioning is directly proportional to the extent to which a brand is perceived as positive, different and reliable in the minds of consumers.
